Sweet rain

Wow -- I just stood outside in the rain. Never mind it's about 100 degrees out there, rain drops are moistening my droopy flowers and brown grass. A day lily bud is pink with expectation.

Oh, my, it's already stopped. That was way less than five minutes of rainfall. Sad. Not good for much except to raise the dewpoint so I can't use the evaporative cooler.

I went to Costco to look at their form of steer penis for dogs: bully sticks. Not braided, so my old boxer with crooked teeth probably couldn't pick one up off the floor. I had a giggle over "natural grass fed beef" on the label.

With embarrassment, I anticipate movies on Saturday with my two gal buddies from work, one of whom I was sure was flirting with me. She's been out of town since rebuffing me, so tomorrow will be my first chance to get a damage estimate. I had the distinct impression, our last time together watching DVD's at her place, that she was actually angry at me. She was polite but not friendly, a stark contrast to before. I'm thinking it might be the impulsive kiss on the cheek I gave her when I got into the car with both of them to see the Edith Piaf film after I got back from a month in Ireland. I was chicken, didn't watch her response but looked out my window. I think I should have checked and avoided putting my foot in it later. DVD night left me nonplussed, and so I asked outright in an email after I got home. In rather formal wording, she expressed hope that we would remain platonic friends and keep going to films, but one knows how such things can pollute a previously innocent friendship with unease. Oh, well, one has to take chances.
