Random violence

Today one of my students called me about having to miss lab because her father was shot while driving on the freeway Thursday night. Apparently it was one of those random rage things. I found the article in the local paper. Some young bald guy was seen waving a gun around. Holy cow. They say he's going to be okay, but he's in critical care, so it must be bad.

I guess that's a pretty good excuse for missing class.

Not much else to say tonight. I'm just awfully fucking tired from a long day using my bum knee, gritting my teeth when it clicks and pops. I've stopped using the knee brace so the muscles won't get too weak. I had just got through strengthening it up after the summer injury, and now I'm back to square one. Hopefully the arthroscopy a week from Friday will make it better.
